The Children's School at St Johns

Visit & Event Highlights

The Children’s School at Saint John’s is extremely proud of the fact that many guests and visitors are integrated into its program throughout the weeks and months. These individuals are  specialist in a variety of subjects and interest areas who provide both academic lessons as well as fun and entertaining sessions.  There is no additional costs for these opportunities and all are included in weekly tuition charges.

Some of our weekly visitors include:

Spanish with the Spanish Workshop is a  half-hour lesson (Fridays) that introduces the children (ages two and up) to simple words, phrases and songs of the Spanish language. In addition, stories and discussions on native customs are incorporated as well.

Music with Mr. David is a half hour lesson (Mondays) that gives all the children the opportunity to sing, dance and move to a variety of songs through a fast moving and energetic show.

Large Motor Activities with Miss Dana and Tumble Tots is  a   half-hour lesson (Thursdays) that allows all the children opportunities to practice their large muscles in a structured environment. Through the use of tumbling mats, balance beams, exercise balls, etc. the children will be exposed to an assortment of fun exercises and activities to help ensure that fundamental motor skills will be taught and reinforced through weekly planned activities

Yoga with Miss Katie is a half-hour lesson (Wednesdays) where the children (Pre-School and up) are engaged in several focused, yet fun activities to enhance physical flexibility, refine balance and coordination, develop focus and concentration,  and strengthen the mind-body connection! Can you Downward Dog? We can!

Through interactive experiences with live animals, plants, fossils, insects, and other natural treasures, children develop curiousity, observation skills, and a deeper appreciation for science and teh environment. Each presentation encourages discovery, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning while making science fun, memorable, and age-appropriate.

Color Me Healthy is and engaging, research-based preschool curriculum designed to teach children athe importance of healthy eating and physical activity through fun, hands-on experience. Using music, movement, storytelling, imaginative play, games, and colorful learning materials, the curriculum encourages children to explore fruits and vegetables, develop healthy lifestyle habits, and stay acive. Lessons are developmentally appropriate for preschool aged children and include family resources to help reinforce healthy habits at home.
